ALGORITHMIC TRADING · 2025Algothon 2025A national algorithmic trading competition run by the UNSW Fintech Society with Susquehanna International Group. Our team, Bits N’ Bytes, placed in the top 2 percent with a Blended Regime Strategy over a simulated portfolio of fifty instruments: a regime-switching momentum model and a volatility-adaptive model, weighted against each other by a smoothed blend factor that tracked prevailing conditions. Volatility targeting held risk exposure steady and correlation filters cut redundant positions across similar instruments. Ojas Kekre

I'm studying Cyber Security at Monash, and I spend my Industry Based Learning placement inside Monash eSolutions, shipping Kotlin and Jetpack Compose into the Study App that fifty thousand students open every day in semester. Within a month I was off small tickets and onto multi-day work, and I own the migration of a core section off the legacy view system.

Outside that I co-founded Handovex, where a spoken clinical handover becomes a speaker-attributed, ISBAR-structured record with an audit trail behind it, and I run the whole technology stack of an education business that has gone from about twenty students to more than three hundred and fifty.

What pulls me in is the puzzle. Every system is a set of rules somebody wrote down, and every set has a seam, the place where two assumptions meet and neither owner thought to check the other. Getting something to do what its designers would have sworn was impossible, then explaining exactly why it was always going to be, is the part I actually enjoy.
